Many people struggle to grasp the proper usage of hashtags. There are so many geeks who teach what hashtags to use but very few know how to find the right hashtags. I won’t be giving you the right hashtags for your content, but will rather show you how to find the best ones.

To start, it is essential to have a clear understanding of your content pillars and define what your content is all about. I mean very very specific to the niche you are in. This will enable you to identify the most relevant hashtags to include in your posts.

For instance, if you are promoting a local bakery, incorporating hashtags like #pastrylovers or #desserts will attract the right audience and avoid hashtags like #bakery, #cookingbread. These are more general and won’t be able to atttract your very specific target audience.

2: Know Your Audience

Knowing your audience and their interests is key to selecting appropriate hashtags. Spend time and do research on identifying your audince. learn about their habbits, preferences, values, etc.

For example, if your target audience consists of fitness enthusiasts, incorporating hashtags like #fitnessvideos or #gymlife will enhance engagement with your content.

3: Align with Your Niche or Industry

In case you cannot find very specific details about your audience, try to use hashtags that are more aligned with their action or, simply said, that are most likely to be searched by them.

If you own a hairdressing business, employing hashtags such as #haircut or #beauty will attract individuals seeking expertise in that domain.

4: Location-Specific Hashtags

Including location-specific hashtags can be advantageous, especially if your target audience is concentrated in specific areas. Doing this has many advantages such as, getting appeared in that specific region and being recognized as a local.

If you operate a boutique in New York City, incorporating hashtags like #NYCfashion or #Manhattanstyle will help attract local customers.

5: Time-Specific Hashtags

Utilizing hashtags that are time-specific can enhance engagement by tapping into trending topics or events. This can also be an incentive for the audience to take advantage of the time and give them a frame, from which they can get benefited.
